Khmer statues seized at border
Five statues were seized from a smuggler in Thailand yesterday. A Thai military outfit patrolling the border area stopped a truck after a car chase and the recovery of 5 Khmer statues hidden in fertiliser sacks. The driver claimed they were fakes to be sold to unwitting tourists. The Ministry of Culture is set to investigate the case according to the Cambodia Daily.
